I have finally done something I've wanted to do for a while: Make a quick and dirty doc for the Appalachian Trail. Something that can be thought of as a handout for the AT.

Planning for the AT can be a bit like drinking from a firehose....sometimes there is too much info and it is overwhelming.

This doc can be thought of of as a concise jumping off point to help a (typically new) long distance hiker plan for this trail.

I now have a "shameless commerce division" portion of my website.

I am frequently getting questions on what maps to use, what guidebooks I suggest, what gear to bring, etc. Well, all the gear and related items are now in one Amazon store (or some of them anyway). You can also buy a pretty photo if so inclined, too.   I figure with the fair amount of work I put on this site (a labor of love), I may as well earn some modest (very!) amount money. :)
