For a variety of reasons, I decided to do a variation on my Canadian jaunt. It ended up being a road trip with my friends Dave and Mark. We took a side trip to Glacier NP, backpacked in Banff, took a day hike in Yoho, hiked on a glacier in Jasper and ate poutine! Read the trip report Likewise, I decided to pick up the high route of the CDT (vs the low route I took due to snow in 2006) from Molas Pass to Wolf Creek Pass. The San Juans are easily the most stunning mountains in Colorado. Read the trip report It is almost the end of the long distance hiking season. I hope to have new info for the Colorado Trail..including a dog friendly alt start vs. Waterton Canyon (where dogs are NOT allowed). Stay tuned!
