Written by Paul "Mags" Magnanti

If you have been around hiking circles long enough, you know of the phrase "Hike Your Own Hike".

The idea that as long as your hike does not effect other people, it's all kosher.

Well, if you have been around hiker circles long enough, you also know we can be a contentious bunch, too!
So, I a summed up the real philosophy of hiking:

HIKE MY HIKE - DAMN IT! (HMHDI)
The one, true, correct and absolute way to hike,

Why? Because all other ways are wrong. Tongue out

I learned the HMHDI way back in 1992 when I wandered onto the Long Trail and ran
into all the grumpy AT-ers. Long live HMHDI (and I still carry a real tent).

I only carry an imaginary tent myself. Much lighter.
