Colorado Trail 2004 - Calories Consumed and Miles Per Day Hiked
Written by Paul "Mags" Magnanti

Two questions I am always asked about my thru-hikes are "How many miles per day did you hike?"  and "What did you eat?".  My Colorado Trail thru-hike was short enough where I was able to keep track of this information. The information should prove to be informative, amusing and scary. :)

Colorado Trail - Calories Consumed

Believe it or not kept track of the food I ate. Did my best estimating calories based on web sites and such. (For example, made a typical bar and grill burger equal to a TGIF Burger). Can't be too far off. That's 58 snicker bars in 20.5 days if anyone is curious! :-)

Miles Per Day Backpacked on the Colorado Trail

For you stat wonks kept track of my mileage and such. The lower mileage days generally coincided with town stops
